En 2006 sur le site de Rudiger on pour voir l'un des premiers et rare prototype de cab low light, le fameux
VR316
“The first ever constructed Karmann Ghia Cabriolet.
VR316 – (trial-run), Prototype before the Production Series.
This Cabriolet was prepared as the first of three trial Cabrios in the summer of 1957. It was used for the purpose of load trial - investigating the distortions of the car body - before the Production Series.
The original colour was black with navy blue interior equipment. AMAG, the Swiss general importer at that time, used the Cab as a display vehicle. Unlike the other trail-run Cabrios, it did not get scrapped (as the car was loaned out).
Rather it stayed in Switzerland at the AMAG ausgelichen - with the Mabgabe, it after Austellung/Vorfuhrung to Germany zuruckzugeben. It was used by an AMAG staff member until 1973. From 1973, it lay unused. 25 years in a shed, and then to Germany. It is currently undergoing restoration.
